Description

Ideal for indigenous, fynbos, water-wise, and coastal gardens, ‘King Pink’ thrives as a feature plant in garden beds, rockeries, and large containers. Its impressive flowers are also highly prized for fresh and dried floral arrangements, making them a favourite for both the garden and the vase.

Plant Care Tips

  • Light: Thrives in full sun for the best flowering and vigorous growth.
  • Water: Water regularly while establishing. Once established, water deeply but infrequently during prolonged dry periods.
  • Soil: Prefers well-drained, acidic to neutral soil. Avoid heavy clay soils and areas prone to waterlogging.
  • Feeding: Feed sparingly with a low-phosphorus fertiliser specially formulated for proteas and other fynbos plants.
  • Pruning: Remove spent flower heads and lightly prune after flowering to encourage healthy new growth and maintain a neat, compact shape.
  • Growing Conditions: Plant in a sunny location with excellent drainage and good air circulation. Avoid disturbing the roots once established.
