Fish diseases: What to look for

What you need to look out for if your fish is ill or under stress:

  • If they have split, red or clamped fins
  • Bulging eyes
  • White spots on their body
  • Cotton wool tufts
  • Ulcers on their body

What causes the disease?

  • High levels of bacteria present in the tank
  • Lack of frequent water changes
  • Polluted water
  • Overfeeding
  • Dirty filters
